This is an intensive week-long introductory TIG welding course. This course is designed for those with no TIG welding experience with the goal of equipping you with the confidence, knowledge and skills to continue to develop your TIG welding skills independently after the course is complete.

 

Participants will gain hands-on experience and comprehensive theoretical knowledge in TIG welding. The curriculum will cover essential aspects including safety protocols, equipment selection, torch fundamentals, machine setup, gas selection, and welding technique.

 

Key Course Components:

 

Safety: Learn essential safety practices and gear needed to ensure a safe working environment.

 

Equipment and Torch Selection: Understand the types of welders and TIG torches available, what each component does and how they fit together.

 

At-Home Learning Modules: Engage with curated at-home learning materials to reinforce understanding and practice techniques outside the classroom.

 

Machine Setup: Learn about TIG welding machine set-up and parameters available for adjustment on the welding machine.

 

Hands-On Practice: Develop proficiency through hands-on practice sessions and guided drills, focusing on fundamental TIG welding techniques. (limited practice material available.)

 

Skill Development: Receive personalized guidance and feedback to hone your skills and address specific challenges.

 

Continued Learning: Gain insights into resources and strategies for continued skill development beyond the course duration.

 

IMPORTANT: 


  • Attendance is mandatory Day 1 because shop safety will be covered.

  • Students are responsible for providing their own safety gear including TIG gloves, long sleeves or welding jacket, Work shoe (leather or canvas), Z87+ Safety glasses, and a welding helmet.

  • A limited amount of practice material will be available for welding drills. Students are welcome to bring in additional material if they want.

  • This course will ONLY cover Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding. Also known as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) or heliarc welding. This course will NOT cover other types of welding like Stick or MIG.
